Easter Sunday: We woke up at early o' clock and headed to the beach for sunrise service...I'm not trying to make you feel bad or anything, but there is just something so beautiful about sunrise service on the beach (East Coast of course, lol)...I opted not to bring my camera this year as I didn't want to get caught up in taking photos and forget why I was actually there...but I do wish I'd at least taken ONE photo...it was a spectacular sight to see the horizon over the ocean change colors and then the sliver of gold peeking out...then BAM! This gorgeous golden egg yolk of gold rising up over the water...absolutely breathtaking!
Then we went back home and...(blush)...went back to bed...slept for a couple of hours and woke up refreshed! :)
Our bestest buds came over for dinner and we were reminded once again why they are our best friends. We always have so much fun together!
I decorated my Easter table light and bright...fresh springy flowers from my garden in clear glass...white linen and yellow plates...nice and simple. :)
Dinner: Easy Smeasy...chicken, broccoli and brown rice casserole. Yum! Simple salad (courtesty of our guests), sweet tea (cause we're southern like that), and of course dessert...Vanilla Meringue nests with Chocolate mascarpone, topped with strawberries and blackberries....tasty, but I still think I shoulda switched up the recipe and made angel food cake instead of meringues...oh well. :)
Fun n' Games... I had little piles of scrambled up words on the table, all having to do with Easter, and we each were to make a little foam "Easter card" with words and flowers....we are a silly bunch, but at least we understand eachother...
OK, I DID mention we are silly, right? Cause after the word scramble was done, we all began "wearing" our napkins...don't ask why or how...just accept it, LOL...
After dessert, we headed outside for some fun in the wonderful spring sunshine.
After the
This week:
I'll be a busy bee this week as I'll be making two cakes; one wedding cake and one grooms cake for two separate occassions.
I've been bothered by an achy lower back for over a week now, and after 2 trips to the Chiro and lot's of taking it "easy", ice packs and such, I'm over it. SO if you'd like to say a little prayer for me, I sure would appreciate it...I want to get back to my old self,...and back into the gym!
So, what do you have planned for this week? I'd like to know! :)
Have a beautiful day!
