Thankful Thursday - Hope

I am late getting online today, but I wanted to participate in Thankful Thursday, as there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for... :)

This is a word of encouragement for those Mom's out there who are a little weary about disciplining their sons. Sometimes, as a Mom, it is difficult to punish our children, and often times, we have a hard time when our husbands see fit to punish them. Many parents today are far too concerned about what the world thinks about discipline, but we need to keep our eyes on God's Word in all areas of child training. Don't be overly concerned with "crushing their personlities" or the too often used phrase "choosing your battles", God's Word gives us hope in one thing for certain - discipline.

"Discipline your son, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to his death."

I am thankful for God's Word, through it there is hope for my son's future.

Have a blessed day,

  1. Great and encouraging post! What's that verse...no discipline seems pleasant at the time but something about it's necessary? I'm learning to discipline my grandson. It's *so* hard! He's only 11 months old but already knows what "no no" means and his disobedience results in a small pop on his diapered hiney. It hurts nothing but his feelings, but now he's starting to grin when I do it, so his mom is starting to have to go down to a little swat on the leg to make the umph come out. I feel so sorry for him, but I know it's necessary.

  2. This is such an encouragement! Truly we need God's grace to live according to His Words and not fear what the world will think. The issue of discipline is a tough one but God will give grace. May God bless you and your son as you seek to bring him up in the Lord. May God work wonderfully in your son's heart and enable him to grow up to be a man after God's own heart. Thanks for sharing this lovely encouragement with us. Take care and God bless you always!
