My Husband Rocks - Fun

Well, once again, my sweet honey bunches lovin cakes (hee hee hee) Rocks because he is a fun man! :)

Thanks to the fact that my man is so brilliant and fixed my best friends Mom's computer, she gave us 2 1-day park hopper passes to Disney (Disney, MGM, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot). :) To top that off, hubby recieved a free one day park hopper pass to Universal and Islands of Adventure and a discount pass for me from work!

So, off we went for a mini-vacation. We stayed 2 nights at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground (highly recommended for family fun, as you don't even need to leave the grounds to do fun stuff).

We have been to almost all of these parks way too many times, so we weren't trying to do EVERYTHING, but hit the shows and rides that we enjoyed. We went at the best time of the years, so lines were short and it was not too crowded - it was actually pleasant, even though it was HOT and HUMID!!!!!

Look how empty the bus stop was in the morning - mid summer it would be packed!

Someone doesn't like mornings, can you guess which one? :)

I LOVE to ride roller coasters, and Mikey likes them, but they tend to mess with his head a bit, he was a sweetie pie and rode several rides with me though - he survived without headaches which is a good thing!!! :)

Tower of Terror (you have to make faces for the photos - of course!) This things is a blast, my friend Kim and I have gone on it 11 times in a row (I think that's our record, lol)

Rockin Roller Coaster is way too fun! I could go on it over and over again. :) Hubby knows just when the camera is taking his picture - LOL
We had never been to Islands of Adventure before, as it is a major "ride" park, so we popped in there so I could ride on roller coaster before we headed home. I chose to ride the "Hulk" - it was REALLY fun! :) I have decided that I must return there with my ride buddy (Kim) someday. :)

I am thankful that my sweet husband likes to do silly fun things with me, even things that I enjoy more than him. I am thankful that he doesn't mind waiting in line for 40 minutes with me just so I can ride in the front row! :)

Have a blessed day!

My Husband Rocks - Great Anniversary Date

My Husband Rocks Friday - Great Anniversary Date

My sweet Husband of 9 years (see our Anniversary page from yesterday...Anniversary), completely rocks because he took me on a wonderful date last night to celebrate our special day. Here we are on the outside deck of the Restaurant - our nice waiter Patrick came outside and took a couple of photos for us. :) I made this dress just for our special occassion. :)

He took me to The Chart House, a very nice restaurant that is on the river with a pretty view of the water.

This place has sweet memories for us, since the first time we went there was 11 years ago (from last May), and after dinner we went to a park by the water and he got on his knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him - now I call that romantic, hee hee hee.

Mmmm, yummy sesame cracker in the bread basket!

My Honey's sweet smile

We had a lovely (and way too expensive) dinner of melt in your mouth filet mignon, garlic mashed potatoes and ceaser salad. In addition, the restaurant printed special menus that said "The Chart House Melbourne wishes Mike and Kathy a very happy Anniversary". How sweetis that? What a special keepsake for us!

After dinner we were given a free (I'm sure it got paid for in there somewhere) dessert since it was our Anniversary, the Mud Pie - A HUGE slice of coffe ice cream in a chocolate cookie crust, drizzled in fudgy chocolate and sprinkled with nuts, mmmmmmmm.

MMMMMmmmmmmm

Now, I have to mention that this place has this most awesome dessert called the Chocolate Lava cake, you have to order it ahead because it takes 30 minutes to prepare. We KNEW we would be too full for dessert, so we didn't plan to have one, but somehow we managed to finish off that mud pie - lol...maybe that's why my tummy hurts today, LOL.

After dinner we went walking on the beach. I love to walk on the beach, I love the sound of the ocean. It was extra windy last night due to Hannah making her way north, and the waves were really big (for us anyway, not like Hawaii 5-O, LOL).

My Husband Rocks - Mechanic

I absolutely adore my husband just for who he is. However, I do get these fantastic extra added bonuses as well, hee hee. As a young boy, my hubby became fascinated with taking things apart and putting them back together again. This began with small objects and then, as he got older it turned into motorcycles, jet-skis, and cars. Though he has no certificate to prove it, the man is the best mechanic I know - he can fix, build and/or rebuild any vehicle... :)

Before we met...The Hot Rod (oh, the car is pretty nice too, hee hee)

When we were dating, he fixed my car in my apartment parking lot...the way to a girls heart is through her engine, lol

If it needs fixin' it doesn't matter where we are, he can do it! :)

The dirt bike was stolen, miraculously retrieved (that's another story), re-built and then sold... :)

The not-running camper we bought for REAL cheap - totally rebuilt it inside and out and it purred like a kitten! Took it halfway across the country and later sold it to a woman who drove it completely across the country (Fl to CA).

There have been many more, but I guess we didn't take photos, because I couldn't find them, lol. I am a blessed woman indeed! :) I love this man.

My Husband Rocks - Generosity

Once again, there are far too many things I could say about why my husband rocks, but a blog I posted yesterday made me think of something specific. My sweet, precious husband Rocks (hee hee, I feel so teenage when I say that, lol) because he never, ever, complains, or even bats an eye when I come home with oodles of plants, bags of mulch, bags of compost, or come to him with graph paper depicting plans for my garden "extensions", including walkways and pergolas, lol. (see inmygarden)

I am not a "shopping" kind of woman, I don't have need for fancy clothes or shoes, I'm not into jewelry, I don't get my nails and hair done, I'm really pretty much plain jane. So I indulge my "spendy" desires on plants - and he just smiles alongside me. I know it can get a bit crazy at times, but I also know that after a hard day at work, it is a joy for him to come home and see bright happy blooms on the outside of the house and bright happy smiles on the inside! :)
I love this man!

My Husband Rocks...Because He Makes Me Laugh!

Last week I left a comment saying that I was going to put my hubby's funny faces on here, but when I wrote my post, I decided to talk about how much he has built and done to our home.

Soooooo, this week, I am going to say...My Husband Rocks because he makes me laugh. I don't think there is a day that goes by that my husband doesn't make me laugh. I'm not talking about little giggles here and there, I mean, laugh hard. The man is funny.

A little background. When I began dating my husband, there were a few people at church who asked my best friend, Kim (http://homesteadersheart.blogspot.com/) if she thought he was really "right" for me. They were concerned, because while he is definitely a godly man, he is so SERIOUS (he's a cop). I am a typically light and happy, loves to smile kind of gal, so this confused people. Well, Kim had already had the opportunity to "get to know him" and she assured everyone that he was perfect for me. :)

Let me just add, that when he needs to be, he is a completely serious man, and a wonderful strong leader of our home, as well as being a hunk-o-man! :)

I LOVE THIS MAN!

My Husband Rocks - Building

My husband rocks for so many reasons that I find it hard to just name one, but I will pick one out of my head. :) My sweet, precious husband rocks because he is a "builder of things", all sorts of things. He has worked so many hard years to make our home "homier" by building with his own sweat, tears and hunky muscles (hee hee). Some of the things that come to mind are: a kitchen remodel, which included raising the ceiling, adding 3 linear feet of space, building new cabinet doors, floors and countertop; Building a workshop/shed, building a gazebo just for me!, a fort and swing set for our son, a 30 foot long screen porch, a wall unit for our tv and movies, a wall unit for our sons bedroom for school books/desk, etc.. (when we were homeschooling), shelves and workbenches for his garage, a potting bench for me, a swing for under the fort,...I'm sure I'm leaving something out, but you get the picture. :) He is a builder of things, and a builder of my heart and home! :)
