Joy!

Shout joyfully to God, all the earth;
Sing the glory of His name;
Make His praise glorious.
Say to God, "How awesome are Your
works!
Because of the greatness of Your power
Your enemies will give
feigned obedience to You.
All the earth will worship You,
and will sing praises to You;
They will sing praises to Your name."
Selah.
Psalm 66:1-4

Beautiful - Just The Way We Are!

I really love this song and I absolutely love the way the video portrays how special and beautiful God has made us. It's such a blessing to know that our Husbands and Daddy's really love us just for who we were created to be! :)

Have a beautiful day!

Fun on the Fourth

Fourth of July was a "blast", no pun intended...well, ok, it was intended... :) This is me and my totally hunky husband on the beach pretending like we can fish and surf and stuff like the Wilson family. :)

Hubby and I headed over to Kimmy's house for the annual 4th of July food and fun fest (which has been a tradition for MANY moons).

I was so excited this year, because I was to meet my blog friend Debra from Clothed_with_Scarlet. I am so happy to have finally seen her face to face, got wonderful hugs and shared some laughs. She is a wonderful woman and I'm proud to call her my friend!

Kim and I rocked at horseshoes...ok, we didn't actually get any points, but we played and it was fun...I decided that she had won so we could go stand in the shade!!!

Throwing tomahawks is so much fun...don't knock it till ya' try it! :) Only a real woman can throw a tomahawk with grace! Hee hee. :)

After fun and games we enjoyed tasty food and yummo desserts (and great chips!!!)...some fun at the beach (this is where I PROVE that Kim and I can be cute...well...ok...cute for our AGE!) LOL

Hubby and I left a bit early so we could get our boat onto the river to catch the City fireworks display. There were a bunch of boats anchored in the river, lot's of families having fun on the water under a nice clear sky (thank you Lord!! :) ). The fireworks were beautiful! (don't you love looking at photos of fireworks they are so not exciting!)

Yup, this is the result of taking photos with your shutter open on a swaying boat...here are all the boats on the water, lol...

Look at the moon...what you didn't know that was the moon?

I hope you all had a lovely Independance Day Celebration!

Mimi's Cafe Review - Lunch with Kim...

Lunch at Mimi's Cafe - we'll go there again!
Tuesday my best friend Kim asked me to accompany her on the difficult task of "clothes shopping" (you absolutely MUST see_her_blog on that) - anyone with a best friend KNOWS that shopping includes lunch! ;)

We decided to try Mimi's Cafe - we've never eaten there before. The place was decorated so cute, very colorful and jazzy. The service was excellent, and our server was so sweet, she even offered to take our photo! :)

The little buzzer that tells you your table is ready was kinda scary though, when it went off it really startled us - it talked to us and that was a bit strange! :)

Because of our weakness for Quiche, we both ordered the Broccoli Cheese Quiche. It comes with a muffin and a side salad. Ok, sounds fine. Well, for the price, they certainly do feed you well!!!

The muffin was huge, and we got to choose from about 4 different varieties...we split the Carrot Cake muffin and the Coffee Cake - they were totally yummy and more like a dessert!
The quiche was big, about 5 inches in diameter - and tasty with a flaky crust. It also came with a little side salad of spring greens, PLUS a slice of honeydew, cantelope, watermelon AND orange. We definitely could have split one meal and been satisfied, but instead we did our best to clean our plates.
Yummo Quiche!

After the stress of shopping we NEEDED coffee!!!!!!!! Yes, shopping_is_stressful, just about everything we found was super weird and when we found one pretty skirt it was way tooo much...
I don't think so!

Kim had a Starbucks gift card, so we headed there for a Tall Iced Mocha (with whipped cream of course). Of course, anyone knows that shopping with your best friend MUST include lunch and of course afternoon COFFEE! :) - oh, didn't I say I was giving that up?...I guess I'll give it up another day. :)

Blessings and have a beautiful fun filled day!

In Other Words - Home Building...

What an honor it is to build a home. My heart aches for the women I see, women I know, who don't see the value, the honor, the awesome responsibility and importance in building their homes.

I have been there before, there was a time, before I knew Christ, that I worked hard at tearing down my own home. I succeeded, and I paid dearly for it.

Since that time, God has restored my life and He gave me a fresh start. He has given me another chance, a chance to try again, and live life according to His plan. A new home to build with the precious gift of a godly husband. I am thankfulm, so thankful for his amazing grace and I'm determined to work daily at buiding up the home He has blesssed us with.

Now that I have an "empty nest", I have had several women ask me "what I will do with my life now". Will I go out and get a job? What could I possibly do at home? Am I bored? Will I make myself "useful"? It's an easy answer for me. I will keep on doing what I am doing. Building my home did not end when my son moved out. When children are in the home, they are an integral part of building a home. However, I am my husbands wife - I am building OUR home.

I love to care for my husband. This includes everything from being there to smile at when he wakes up, having the time to bake break, make cookies, grill chicken for his lunch, iron his uniforms, cut his hair. Whatever he needs, I am happy to do for him. Taking care of our home is joy, as I want it to be a place of refuge when he comes home from work. Taking care of the gardens are a pleasure, I enjoy that he loves to see our house as he drives down the street, with flowers swaying in the breeze. I love to wash and fold his clothes, so that he will never have to worry about having something clean to wear. I could go on forever, but building my home is never gone to be done. It is a daily pleasure to work at, even when the children are gone.

:) Have a blessed day,
