I love making things over, from furniture to Christmas cards to making use out of old clothes. However, this is my first time participating in DIY Day. As much as I love gardening, and don't have trouble keeping things alive outside, I can't keep anything alive inside my house, so I decided to create a few "fake florals" for my home.
A couple of weeks ago I purchased two floral arragements from the thrift store. The flowers were pretty enough and the containers were cute, but they were too formal for something I would have in my house. 2 days ago, I ran over to JoAnns for the 70% off spring floral's sale and ended up with some materials to "makeover" this arrangement.
BEFORE
AFTER
I placed a little bird nest with two "eggs" into the moss, and glued a tiny Momma bird to the end of a twig from the tree in my backyard.

Have a blessed day!
I love the height on your centerpiece. That is the exact drama I need and have no room for in my apartment!

The colors are so fab! Great, great job!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great. I love the nest. Where did you get the "eggs"? I am thinking of adding a nest to my living room.
ReplyDeleteThe "after" is so pretty and bright!! And can you imagine if you paid for something like that? You would have paid double, at least!!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!
So beautiful, it looks like flowers in my rainforest outside.
ReplyDeleteDelighted to meet you.
